Be sure and kitten proof your home! A baby Sphynx is just like having a 2-year-old child. Please cover all second story Open Banisters in your home so kitten won't fall. Refer to my "links page" for Banister Coverings. Remove harmful house plants and flowers... many plants/flowers can be toxic to cats. If your kitty is playing with small items, string, rubber bands, paperclips etc.... which they can swallow... take away and put away. Window Coverings "pully strings" can be dangerous if your cat gets wrapped up in them. Be very careful when you open your windows... your cat will climb your screens and chase bugs, birds, butterflies, etc... if your screens are not in really tight your cat and screen will fall to the ground! I always recommend having your screens bolted to the frames if you want to open your windows more than an inch. When opening and closing doors watch the ground to make sure your kitty does not sneak out under your feet! Also be very careful not to close a door on your kitty's tail. Your kitty will love to climb in the in Dryer for warmth... Please Do Not let your kitty in the Dryer it will become a very Dangerous Habit. Always - Always check your dryer before turning it on! No diffusers with essential oils in your home - they are poisonous to the Sphynx Breed. A collar and name tag with your phone number is a very good idea just in case your baby gets out. If you have any questions regarding a safe environment for your Sphynx Cat please don't hesitate to contact me.
Allergies:
If you are allergic to cats - there is still a 50/50 chance you will still be allergic to the Sphynx Breed.
It is best to come for a visit prior to purchasing your kitten to be sure you are not allergic. If you are allergic to only the hair of a cat you should be fine with the Sphynx Breed... However, if you are allergic to the saliva on the cats fur you will still have allergies to the Sphynx Cat because they lick and clean their skin.
If your allergies are mild - Sabadil is a fantastic all natural Allergy medication found at most Organic Grocery Stores.
